Although I would be verbally praised, that only goes so far when you don't see actual support and progress.Ī typical day at Monark would consist of picking orders of varieties of household appliances in the warehouse loading them into truck for delivery, collecting all parts required for installation, and setting out on an exciting fun filled journey to our 1st destination which could be anywhere from 15 min to 4 hrs away, which we get compensated for, once we reach our destination we usually meet and greet the customers, do a walk through to measure doorways and space of which the customer has requested, sometimes we just have to drop off the product and collect signatures, while other times we would have to install, and test the product before proceeding to the next job ,some areas of management had lack of patience with new trainees while others were more hands on with assisting employees, the hardest part about this job was having to move 800 lb products through the snow and up several flights of stairs using nothing other then a dolly, or worse forearm forklifts, however, the most enjoyable part about this job was being able to travel and eat snacks all throughout the day its usually 2 people to a truck 1 driver 1 assistant. HR was NOT responsive to issues regarding anything, and purposely would spell my name wrong in correspondence as well, in different variances although my name was clearly in the signature. I fought so hard for my department, but I hardly ever received support from the company. In turn, this caused more responsibility for the people who were actually good at their job. The culture of the company was very toxic, and they keep people around even though they were terrible at their job. I was extremely stressed out, and started to become an angry, callous person.
